Raising philanthropic funds in support of the University’s strategic aims and priorities and building momentum and capacity to achieve a step change in activities in advance of the anticipated campaign launch in 2023 are the over-riding objectives of this post.

This is a skilled role requiring specialist knowledge and experience of major donor fundraising. Reporting to the Senior Development Executive the post holder will be responsible for securing a high return on investment in the form of major philanthropic gifts from individuals, thus providing significant funding for a spectrum of university projects including capital campaigns, research, and scholarships. You should have exceptional communication and written skills, with strong influential and negotiating skills in order to develop high quality funding proposals and impact reports.

Skills & attributes for success: you will have:

  • Track record of securing 5, 6, or 7 figure gifts across two of the following income streams (Trusts, Companies, Regular Giving, or Major Donors).
  • Experience of managing a prospect pool and progressing relationships from ‘cold’ to cultivation to ‘ask’ and
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload
  • Self-starter and team
  • First rate communicator (written and verbal).
  • Creative thinker – someone who has a track record in initiating and implementing new
  • Knowledge and experience of donor
